The third Workshop of the Preliminary Self Assessment

Minutes of the Workshop

 Deputy of Rectorship for Development and Quality in Najran University, under the patronage of Dr. Saeed Abu-Eshy Al-Maliki University Deputy for Development and Quality, has arranged an open meeting nd workshop presented by Prof. Baha' Sayed, Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa Sh'abaan, and Dr. Ayman Ahmed galalah, Consultants of University Deputy for Development and Quality with the teaching Staff Members and their assistants in the Branch of the University in Sharorah in 19/6/1431H Corresponding to June 2nd. 2010. The attendance was introduced by Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah al-Robo al-sayarei, Deputy of College of Science and Arts in Sharorah and a number of (24) teaching Staff Members and assisted organization.

In addition to an open meeting with Dr. TeolebAbdul Gufaar, Consultant of University Deputy for Development and Quality, with the Supervisors of Development and Quality Units at the branch Colleges and female teaching Staff Members in order to identify the level of evaluation achieved in the branch colleges and offer the technical support.

The lecturers brainstormed the attendants with initiative/ incentive questions about the Organization and Self Assessment Procedure. Then they talked about the concept of Self Assessment; its Importance and Conditions, the needed preparations for applying it and the Types and Standards of Evaluation. They also explained the way of evaluation and the procedure of offering stars as stated by the Organization when practicing Self Assessment of the eleven Standards of the National Organization.

Then the consultants guided the attendants to participate in a Brainstorming session on the Forms of the logical Sequence and the Forms of the Stars and the way of using the Standards, setting and cataloging documents and data, and writing Reports in order to state the points of strength to keep and develop them and to state the points of weakness to cure them smoothly the way that prepares the university to set a Future Strategic Plan.

It was followed by a logical sequence display from the attendants to the regulations and documents of a number of secondary standards through measures of Self Assessment that are issued by the National Organization. Then there was another meeting in the evening in order to offer the technical support on the notes about the documents and the work which was achieved with regard to the constitution and Program Self Assessment and the Future Requirements to complete the Prior Self Assessment.
